Pragmasis Wind Down
Back in mid 2024 the well known and highly respected security chain manufacturer announced that it would be ceasing operations and winding down manufacturing. The sad decision was caused by a number of factors including the deteriorating health of Steve Briggs, the director of Pragmasis, along with various commercial considerations. The company had spent the previous 5 years attempting to establish a viable succession plan, but had been unsuccessful. Although there were rumours Pragmasis had gone bust, these were entirely unfounded. The company wind down process was completed honourably and successfully, leaving no outstanding debts.
Pragmasis Engineering - A New Future
Pragmasis had manufactured multiple final batches of popular products to satisfy the needs of many long-term, loyal customers but ultimately sold off all stock and machinery to existing resellers. One of these loyal resellers, London based Two Tyres Limited, stepped up to establish a valuable new agreement.
In February 2025 the newly established Pragmasis Engineering Limited company agreed to manufacture and sell all of the Pragmasis range of security products and continue to use the widely respected Pragmasis brand names and trademarks.
Pragmasis Engineering has now resumed production of Pragmasis products including the popular Protector 13, 16 and 19mm high security chains. Sold Secure and Secured by Design approvals are being fully transferred to Pragmasis Engineering who are now responsible for all ongoing product certifications.
